Experience/Certifications/Education:  Eight years of comprehensive operational and management experience in Information Assurance, NIACAP and DITSCAP Certification and Accreditation Processes.  A CISSP certification is required within six months of date of hire.  Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field.  Substitution of experience for education may be made when 4 years of specialized IT or applications subject matter knowledge and experience will be equivalent to a 4-year degree.

Description:  Supports the certification and accreditation (C&A) of government automated information systems as well as Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) and Government off the Shelf (GOTS) software applications and systems for Headquarters Air Force Communications Agency, Scott AFB, IL.  The Information Assurance (IA) Analyst serves as the resident expert in the Air Force Information Technology (IT) Lean / Secure, Interoperable, Sustainable, Supportable, and Usable (SISSU) process and implementation of new Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) procedures, and supports the AF Global Information Grid (GIG) Approval to Connect (ATC) process.  Ensures C&A documentation is in compliance with current National, DoD, and Air Force directives, instructions, etc. and coordinates with the Designated Accrediting Authority (DAA), Program Management Offices (PMOs), user representatives, and/or system owner to obtain required C&A update documents and provide reports documenting actions.  Evaluates and assists with updating and maintaining C&A packages, conducts risk assessments, implements technical vulnerability assessments of applications, and performs other IA support duties (consultation on COMSEC, COMPUSEC, EMSEC, IA Training, etc.) as required.Examine and evaluate system security architecture documentation for vulnerabilities leading to Category I and/or II access and recommend modifications in system engineering, architecture, etc.  Provide accurate network and system hardware and software engineering and technical security support.  Perform Security Working Group functions and determine the level of C&A effort to develop the C&A policies and plan, including threats and cost-effective countermeasures to reduce risk.  Maintain (design & adjust and upgrade) AFCA’s MS Access Database (includes MS Excel & MS Word) tool to carryout automation of C&A tasks for better efficiency.
