Senior Programmer Analyst

The Fila Distribution Center located in the Curtis Bay area is pleased to announce an opportunity for a Senior Programmer Analyst.

 

This position often involves interaction with functional area representatives in evaluating and analyzing business processes as they relate to programmable solutions. This individual must be able to design, develop, modify, test and implement programs for the company’s core systems, using best practices and procedures in a uniquely automated facility. 

 

The accountabilities of this position include but not limited to:

· Displays and maintains proficiency in many AS/400 utilities and productivity tools, including DBU, SDA, PMD, SEU, Query/400, SQL, and Hawkeye.

· Proficient in programming for Microsoft SQL applications.

· Design, develop, modify, test and implement new or updated programs for AS/400 and Microsoft SQL based systems.

· Modify existing programs at all levels of complexity.

· Develop a working knowledge of business areas and collaborate with them to formulate new/upgraded system requirements.

· Design and create integration files and their related processes to support data movement between corporate systems.

· Present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

· Read, analyze and interpret technical specifications, general business periodicals, professional journals, government regulations and technical procedures.

· Write reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals and technical documentation.

· Provide off hours support as needed.

 

The minimum qualifications include:

· Bachelors degree (or employment experience equivalent) in Computer Science

· Prior RPG 400/ILE design and development experience of 5+ years.

· Prior Microsoft SQL/C++ software design and development experience of 5+ years.

· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

· Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

· Ability to correctly and accurately calculate figures and amounts discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  This includes the application of theories and common practices in rounding.

· Strong skills in communication and business principles required.
