Job Description:
The Senior Project Manager(s) will oversee and be involved with planning, directing and coordinating the activities of the project to ensure that the project’s goals are accomplished successfully, according to both budget and timeframe structures. The Senior Project Manager(s) will identify project goals, strategy, staffing, risks, resources, and contingency plans and manage stakeholder expectations. The Senior Project Manager(s) will work with the team and collaborate with business users in the definition of the project scope and requirements, and develop detailed and comprehensive requirements and documentation. Projects will vary in scope but may include process analysis and improvement, custom application development, and system implementation and integration.
Minimum Required Experience and Education: These positions require seven (7+) plus years’ project management experience in enterprise information technology projects with a focus on custom application development, system integration and application integration across the Microsoft enterprise platform. Key factors are: a demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute pragmatically; strong understanding of business process improvement approaches and methodologies, as they relate to large IT initiatives; exceptional business acumen with the ability to interface with executive management; experience building cross-functional teams and managing diverse resources in a cross-matrixed environment; ability to execute multiple concurrent objectives and partner with business resources, vendors, and third-party consultants to deliver required project results. This includes thorough and professional documentation of all processes including the project, testing, deployment, and support plans. Extensive understanding of Information Technology processes with the ability to manage the total project lifecycle is required. Must have previous experience in leading multiple concurrent projects (2-4 teams). In depth experience using Microsoft Project to manage resources and timelines is required. Experience managing projects using Agile (Scrum), RUP/UML and other application development methodologies is highly preferred. Experience working in a PMO, ITIL and/or CMM environment is also preferred. Being a great thinker and strong scheduler is paramount.
Must be extremely well versed in working on a wide array of mission critical full life cycle projects (e.g. custom application development initiatives, application and system implementation and integration, infrastructure and business continuity, and process analysis and improvement projects).
Experience working on enterprise Microsoft development (Visual Studio.NET, ASP.NET, SQL Server, BizTalk, SharePoint and Dynamics) projects and system integration and implementation (Windows Vista, Exchange, MOM, SMS, etc.) projects is preferred.
Must possess demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to reason in a variety of situations. Exceptional problem solving skills with the ability to adapt well to daily change is paramount. Strong negotiation and consensus-building skills are essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, between both the customer and all levels within the organization are required. Knowledge of sound business practices and a proven track record of exceeding customer expectations and anticipating their needs are also required.
Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Business/Computer Science or related field. PMP certification is preferred.
