General Summary: This position supports a technologically forward thinking company accepting of technological solutions. Position requires combining technical knowledge with a strong background in process and procedure. This position has responsibility for supporting and maintaining the backend technical infrastructure for a company with nationwide facilities and operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Acts as a technical lead and mentors Server Admin, Helpdesk and Desktop support staff at various SFG locations on a matrix basisResponsible for Tier 2 and server support in a 24x7 coverage modelAdministers, enhances, maintains and inventories primary hosting services at internal and third party co-location computing centers and supporting IT infrastructurePerforms and maintains backups, add/delete/change user logon information, monitors queues, monitors disk space, troubleshoots and resolves both hardware and software issuesImplements and maintains system monitoring and alert technologySupports VMware, Citrix, Windows Server, IIS, Exchange, Active Directory, SharePoint, Support Tracking System, and other in-house server based applicationsProvide support to Tier 1 as required for Windows Client OS, Microsoft Office and other client technologiesSupports key business system infrastructure and hosting environmentsUtilizes a customer service technical support system to record, track, follow-up, provide status and manage Tier Two support requests and issuesProvides customer service to both onsite and remote customersRecommends and develops standards, processes, and procedures, and appropriate documentation for both Tier One and Two purposesParticipates in research and developmentParticipates in Service Level Agreement tracking and reportingResponsible for measuring and meeting Service Level performance targets Completes weekly status reportsCustomers range from technically savvy to new usersAble to travel to other offices and third party co-location computing centers as required
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Under Graduate or Graduate Business/IT related DegreesSolid communication and organizational skills are essential.Excellent documentation skillsAbility to maintain strict confidentiality in all cases involving client aircraft operations and when dealing with sensitive or security issuesExtensive technical knowledge of Exchange 2003/2007; Active Directory, IIS web services, server and network architecture, software and hardware, SANs, Backup Solutions, Citrix software, VMware and SharePointExperience with deploying and integrating Microsoft technology platforms across geographically distributed, multi-site organizationTechnical understanding of LAN and WAN technologies and protocolsTechnical understanding of Client Platforms and Operating SystemsExtremely skilled and knowledgable in customer service techniques; able to perform all job duties providing the highest level of service to both external and internal customersExperience with best practice IT Operations process methodologiesSkilled in organizing and performing detail-oriented duties and functions in a timely mannerExperience with server and storage capacity planning and monitoring
