Sr. Pre-Sales Consultant

GXS is seeking several Pre-sales Consultants to support the US Sales Team. The location is flexible and B2B experience is highly desired.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
· Facilitate GXS business and revenue goals by providing consistent, high quality solution technical support and assistance as well as input into the qualification of prospects and the creation of business strategies to secure the win for GXS.
· Provide business process and technical expertise
· Lead the technical qualification, opportunity assessment, and solution design and proposal phases.
· Work with sales to analyze client’s business processes and technical requirements.
· Propose the best solution that generates profitable revenue for GXS and meets the client’s business and technical needs.
· Develop and deliver written solution proposals and presentations to clients including responses to RFPs/RFIs/RFQs.
· Works closely with solution definition and delivery teams to develop implementation plans, estimates, for proposals
· Assist in developing client’s business case for the recommended solution.
· Ensure smooth transition from pre-sale solution to post-sales implementation.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Functional
· Analyze requirements and propose the best possible solution
· Provide detailed solutions that solve business problems.
· Respond to RFPs/RFIs/RFQs.
· Create and deliver demonstrations, presentations and/or prototypes which map features/benefits of GXS to specific business and technical needs.
· Provide on-going technical support to well-qualified prospects conducting evaluations. This may include training, programming of examples, third-party software, trouble-shooting, best-practices consulting.
· Provide advice to sales management.
· Work closely with sales management to establish in depth account plans and strategies.
· Assist sales in getting answers to questions and issues.
· Serve as liaison between GXS sales and solution delivery.
· Work with marketing and sales on sales collateral.
GXS Solutions
· Maintain solid knowledge of GXS solutions.
· Escalate issues in a timely and professional manner.
· Resolve internal issues in a timely and professional manner.
· Maintain positive working relationship all other GXS areas.
· Provide recommendation/input to management on GXS solutions.
· Provide product feedback from customers and prospects.
· Serve as liaison between GXS sales/solution definition and marketing for solution recommendations/input.
· Attend and participate in ISD calls.
Market and Industry
· Maintain technical, market and industry knowledge
· Communicate with GXS on competitive information and provide feedback to product marketing.
Administrative
· Ensure accurate and timely completion of all administrative duties including but not limited to monthly reporting and expenses.
· Provide technical leadership and mentorship to peers.
· Identify and coordinate internal training requirements.
SKILLS & Minimum Qualification
Education
· BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
Minimum Experience
· 5 years experience in software development or pre-sales with proven ability to understand and analyze prospects needs and identify and develop and present appropriate GXS solutions.
· The ability to master a broad range of expertise ranging from understanding the business process to collecting and analyzing business and technical requirements.
· Experience in Supply chain management, e-business, B2B, and EDI.
· Experience in services model on a global basis that include: Up front implementation, service level agreements, data center operations, ongoing customer management and change management
· Excellent customer relations, written and verbal communication skills.
· Able to take direction.
· Demonstrate a team attitude.
· Display high level of independence.
· Experience developing and presenting clear and concise product briefings. Proficiency in MS Word, MS Power Point.
· Ability to travel on a regular basis.
Desirable
· MBA.
