Senior Storage Adminstrator
This Storage Technology Senior at Kaiser Permanente maintains superior 24x7 operations for Enterprise Storage Environment in various data centers and runs process monitoring, system triage and recovery. The Technology Senior provides advanced system implementations and integrations, systems analysis and diagnosis, troubleshooting, and performance analysis/resolution. As a Storage Technology Senior you must support/maintain the Enterprise Storage Environment, troubleshooting and resolving incident tickets; contribute to incident resolution, ensuring service level objectives are met; escalate issues to incremental levels of support as required; and provide 2nd and 3rd level expert support for helpdesk calls. You must also troubleshoot/resolve critical and high incident tickets; maintain documentation on the physical layouts and assets of Enterprise Storage Environment architecture; monitor systems using scalability and capacity processes from the build lifecycle segment; maintain an understanding of system configurations, tuning and analysis; and run systems and assist in technical system integrations on various platforms supporting core activities and investment projects. You will assist Engineering teams in testing, certifications, pilots, introductions of advanced technologies, implementation and delivery of projects according to specifications and timelines; work with tier II, III and vendor support teams for issue escalation; assess, diagnose and repair issues identified by current incident reporting tools and notification methods; and maintain and document systems architectures, designs, run processes and incident report statistics.Minimum requirements for this position include a BS or AS in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience); experience with large infrastructure services, specifically in multi-vendor, multi-technology environments; problem resolution experience; experience with EMC and IBM SAN products; and 8+ years of troubleshooting experience with Enterprise Storage Environments. You need extensive experience and knowledge of EMC DMX, Clarion, Control Center, McData Directors, Connectrix Manager Zoning, LUN masking, BCV, MirrorView, SnapView, imeFinder, SRDF, PowerPath IBM Shark 800, DS8000, DS6000, LUN masking, flashcopy, PPRC, IBM Total Storage Expert and Specialist, ESSCLI, SDD, AIX LVM, AIX Basic OS, Tivoli Storage Manager, StorageTek Silo, McData Directors and Connectrix Manager. You must have previous knowledge of release management processes; excellent customer service skills; the ability to understand a customers business and how IT contributes to the delivery of that product/service; and excellent analytic, problem-solving and decision-making skills. You must also have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, both verbally and in writing. Preferred qualifications include the ability to provide technical support, systems fault analysis and resolution; experience with technical project implementations; and superior interpersonal skills.
