Designs standard implementation on shared file systems. Thoroughly understands backu/recovery, archival systems, disk arrays, virtual storage devices and storage resource management software. Decides "why it is done this way" on a single storage service and has "deep dive" ability on multiple storage services.  Provide AMASS System Engineering Implementation and support to the Storage Services division.  Perform AMASS software tuning and debugging to include debugging on the AMASS/IRIX kernel level interactions. Manage the transition fo data from legacy tape libraries to newer storage technologies to include ENDLESSCAVERN, CONVEYANCE, and CAPRI.  Evaluate new data archival technologies for future implementations.  Provide engineering analysis and engineering test support for the Corporate Archive Service. Gather and analyze customer requirements to include root cause analysis on any failures that occur on the Archive Systems. Audit and maintain system reliability, availability and integrity. Review daily calls, resolve problems, produce internal tracking reports and write scripts to allow the Operations organization to effectively monitor the Corporate Archive Service.
