 Position Summary:

 

Senior Systems Administrator with a strong background in Exchange 2007, Exchange 2003, Windows 2003 Systems Administration and Microsoft Active Directory.  Primary function is to design, manage Messaging as well as Windows environments for SanDisk’s global infrastructure. Be part of the Infrastructure Engineering team with implementation of projects that affect the systems infrastructure, security, support and IT standards. Assist IT management as a strong technical resource for IT-Infrastructure Engineering and user community.

 Education Requirements/Preference:

 

·  Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience. 5 + years experience administering Microsoft Exchange 2003/2007, Microsoft Active Directory and Windows servers in a large scale data center environment.

·  Demonstrated strong experience with the following technologies: MS Exchange 2003 and 2007, Windows Server 2003, E-vault, Goodlink, DNS, WINS, DHCP, AD, NT Host Security, Security Policies, Security Auditing and a variety of storage and backup solutions, including SAN, NAS. 

 

Years Experience:

 

·  An intimate understanding in all aspects of messaging infrastructure including SMTP, MS Exchange 2003 & 2007 front end and mailbox servers, anti-virus and spam protection,  Goodlink, Active Sync as well as E-vault.

·  Experience in the integration of high availability Exchange configuration that is clustered with SAN connectivity.

·  Experienced in server design, overall architecture, hands-on implementation and configuration of server infrastructure

·  An intimate understanding of the backup configuration and knowledge of Network Appliance SAN solutions desirable

·  Ability to work proficiently with minimal daily guidance and bring mature seasoned skills when working with production systems.

·  Demonstrable experience in a full lifecycle of administrative tasks (server build, administration, configuration, and rollout).

·  Must have experience with planning and implementation, standards development, file server and software maintenance, data backups (Backup Exec) and recovery, capacity planning and monitoring. Knowledge of scripting is a plus.

·  Experience in building or participation in Disaster Recovery procedures for all messaging systems and participation in Infrastructure Change Management processes is a must.

·  Able to thrive in fast paced and high-pressure environment

·  Excellent written and oral communications skills. Can clearly communicates complex technical concepts verbally and in writing 

·  Demonstrated experience presenting technology recommendations from a business perspective.

·  MCSE certification (MCSE 2003) preferred. Cisco CCNA, Citrix CCA, NetApps NACE certifications highly desirable.

·  Understanding of LAN/WAN network design. Knowledge of Cisco routers & switches and networking technologies preferred

·  ITIL / ITSM  experience highly desirable

 

 

Tasks to be performed & areas of responsibility (include physical aspects of the job):

 

·  Design, sizing and Implementation of messaging environment including server builds, Upgrades, and monitoring. Provide level 3 support

·  File systems and storage management, monitoring and managing disk space utilization

·  Server Backup and restoration experience in a SAN environment (Exchange Snap Manager & Netbackup)

·  Monitor, tune and assist Help Desk and Application Support personnel with system performance

·  As part of the Infrastructure engineering team, will need to manage projects and set priorities

·  Provide standards on server configuration, tests servers prior to moving into production; prepare transition plans for major upgrades or patches.

·  Provide 3rd level support/troubleshooting of network, Messaging systems, Windows servers, databases and applications for escalation determination.

·  Diagnose and resolve unique and complex system problems

·  Provide technical solutions from business requirements

·  Follow system security policies and procedures.

·  Install and configure monitoring and alerting tools as required

·  Increases and maintains proficiency as an 'Industry Expert' on Microsoft messaging technology, methodologies, and concepts

·  Establish and follow policies and procedures for infrastructure implementationadministration and problem resolution.

·  Responsible for systems management, performance monitoring and benchmarking, support and maintenance of server infrastructure

·  Will require some weekend work and call support on weekends and nights.

·  Create and update documentation of corporate systems hardware and software matrix.

·  Experience defining and implementing best practices security and auditing server security compliance.

·  Ability to work weekends and/or off hours as necessary to meet business needs; this position requires some travel.
