Senior Systems Administrator/Unix and Windows

The Senior Systems Administrator will oversee the day to day operations of the Information Technology infrastructure. This is a small financial firm in NYC. The enviornment consists of  4 Sun Solaris Servers, 19 Windows Servers and 1 Exchange Server.

Description:

· Setup and troubleshoot SUN/Wintel Server hardware;

· Setup and administrate SUN Solaris 8/9, Windows 2000/2003 server;

· Administrate Windows 2003 domain and manage Exchange 2003 server;

· LAN/WAN network administration and security management;

· Backup/Restore in Windows/Solaris environment;

· Manage IT contracts and work with vendors; and

· Some desktop/user support required.

 

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related area;

· Hands-on expertise in Windows/Solaris system administration;

· Experience with Veritas Volume/File system Manager;

· Experience with Checkpoint Firewall, VPN configuration and management;

· Experience with Microsoft SQL server, CRM server, etc.;

· Experience with enterprise virus and spam filtering solutions;

· Experience with networking (LAN and WAN) and telephony communications equipment;

· Knowledge of Blackberry Enterprise Server management and devices setup, as well as Citrix presentation server;

· Knowledge of SAN operation and data image management;

· Knowledge of CA BrightStor ArcServe and Veritas NetBackup operations; and

· Knowledge of data center operations.
