Senior Systems Engineer
Position Title: Senior Systems EngineerLocation: Rochester/Syracuse, New YorkEmployment Status: Full Time With Complete Benefit Package
Growing Solutions Integrator / Managed Services Provider is in need of an experienced Engineer to assist in the Design Implementation and Support of complex network / server environments. Successful candidates should have a strong working knowledge of Server technologies, Storage technologies and Virtualization. Combination of Cisco and Microsoft certifications a plus.
Responsibilities Include:
Provide short and long-term strategic planning to ensure customer network capacity meets current and future requirement of customers.
Work closely with Sales to consult with customer on requirements; design network solutions, develop project plans, and implement.
Perform complex technical analysis of hardware/software/network system, LAN/WAN communications, and switching systems.
Collaborate with other System Engineers on technical solutions.
Qualified candidates will have:
- Bachelor's degree in IS or related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands on experience in similar role.
- Working knowledge of VMWare, VCP Certification a plus
- Working knowledge of routing protocols, and TCP/IP
- Strong working knowledge of MS Windows 2003 and Exchange, MCSE a plus
- In depth knowledge of HP/Compaq Server Hardware, including Blade Servers and rack configurations
- Knowledge of various backup solutions, i.e. CA Arcserve and Veritas Backup Exec
- Must be capable of working within a team environment and interfacing with other groups to accomplish network integration projects.
- Working knowledge of enterprise architectures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong Customer Service, and interpersonal skills
- Cisco, Citrix, Microsoft, and Novell, certifications a plus
