Reports To:Enterprise Architect
Interfaces:Application, Infrastructure, and Business stakeholders at all levels

Responsibilities:Implement as is and to be business and system designs in order to lead merchandising and supply chain application teams from business silos to business modularity.Generate and maintain cross functional roadmaps to eliminate surprises for development teams.Collaborate with business representatives to understand IT requirements generated by business strategies and operations Develop and implement the architecture for global IT solutions, with expertise in at least one of the following architecture domains: business, application, data, and technology (see below)Research, collaborate, and influence 3rd party vendors to develop innovative solutions to complex problems Facilitate the development and evolution of the architecture and global governance processes. Facilitate the process for approving architecture standards Document and communicate the enterprise architecture Ensuring delivered products meet the needs of the stakeholders Mentor application team members in the principles of enterprise architecture.

Qualifications:5-10 years of information systems experience. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong ability to influence.Ability to identify and concentrate on the few details and interfaces that really matter and not become overloaded with the rest Ability to prioritize and manage work to critical project timelines in a fast-past environment Proficient in simplifying and standardizing complex business processes and IT systems.Must be organized, have an eye for detail, and be able to put ideas into tangible form Ability to work independently and collaboratively Familiarity with Zachman Framework Able to engage at multiple levels: developer to C level leaders Positive attitude. Architecture evangelist. Believes that architecture is the foundation for business & IT execution

Architecture Domain Descriptions:Business Architecture- Analyzes and documents as is and to be business processes. Works across large functional areas to define major processes for the enterprise.Comfortable mediating between global stakeholders with differing opinions in order to define single standardized, integrated process. Works with business analysts to define consistent project management practices during the requirements review phase.

Application Architecture:Analyzes and documents as is and to be systems. Translates business process into standardized and integrated user interfaces. Able to drive standards across various application areas to ensure architecture ease-of-use goals are met. Strong understanding of SOA. Translates business activities into reusable service components for implementation by the development teams.

Data Architecture ranges from strategic views of data used for executive reporting and business planning, through data warehousing, business intelligence and operational data for transactional applications. Works closely with application architecture to provide efficient data usage for SOA based solutions. Focuses on SQL design and the principles and policies that govern data access across the application areas to ensure architecture efficiency goals are met.

 

Technical Architecture captures decisions on technology required to support general infrastructure requirements (e.g., e-mail, file sharing, desktop computing) as well as hardware and software infrastructure for enterprise data and applications (e.g., DBMS, servers, networks, application server software, data warehousing, etc.). Reviews, recommends, and influences 3rd party software solutions adherence to technology standards. Works with application teams to ensure coding standards in order to meet architecture efficiency and energy sustainability goals.
