Senior Technical Consultant: Engagement Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION:  The primary role of this individual is to help drive decisions around the successful development and implementation of a cohesive technology strategy in support of the firms GWM Desktop Strategy. The candidate will be required to:

- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with application development, Shared Services and Business Line teams across the GWM Sector, acting as liaison in providing support and guidance for relevant IT change initiatives

- Act in the role of “engagement manager” insuring that all technology areas are represented and that solutions are aligned with overall goals if initiative and with other Sector-wide strategic initiatives

- Move initiative forward through influence and relationship building  as needed

- Identify issues across the initiative and drive cross-functional teams to best solution for the overall initiative

- Provide options on “best of breed” solutions, by leveraging prior experiences in similar technology

- Serve as a key influencer in driving consensus across the GWM technology organization

- Work with business partners to understand priorities, and help drive IT initiatives on their behalf, communicating key decisions and other relevant project

 

OPPORTUNITY:

The person who fills this role will be a key contributor in supporting the strategy for a new Global Wealth Management FA/PB Desktop.  This initiative is a major contributor in enabling the GWM strategic vision and associated goals.  This person will be a champion of this initiative across the organization.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

-  7-10 plus years of professional experience

-  Successfully formulated or participated in the vision for and executed or implemented enterprise-wide strategic solutions in a large, complex organization

-  Significant knowledge of applicable business areas – Wealth Management

-  Understanding of IT architectures including the value and benefit of various approaches in delivering technology solutions to support the business.

-  Applicable technical experience with open systems and mainframes, Java, Linux, data management and strategies

-  Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team to accomplish objectives under pressure.

-  Highly self-motivated with ability to exercise independent judgment and take action appropriate for the situation.

-  Excellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively across all levels of an organization

-  Strong influencing and negotiation skills.

-  Able to approach problems as challenges and deal with them constructively and promoting this approach to other team members at the same time.

-  Experience with outsourced business models
