Brief Description:
A software developer/professional services consultant with primary responsibilities in implementing GXS's PIM application.
Detailed Description:
A senior developer with solid Java skill set, ideally from a C++ background. This person will have several years of experience as a software developer with exposure to several programming languages, databases, hardware platforms and Internet communications protocols. Well versed in web based technology, conceptual understanding of the emerging B2B exchange market, organizational skills, team leadership and the ability to motivate a team to meet tight project timelines.
Primary responsibilities also include assisting the Project Manager in the design, development, testing and deployment of e-commerce applications. The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded technology background, ideally in a multitude of roles (Developer, DBA, Sys Admin, etc.) with a focused Java development skill. Ideally would be familiar with Oracle, CORBA, RMI, Java Application servers such as Weblogic or WebShpere, IDE environments such as Eclipse IDE, formal software development methodology including UML, SDLC, and CM.
· Lead full software lifecycle development (requirements, design, development, testing) for commercial software products.
· Develop with Java and J2EE architecture, including Servlet/JSP, EJB, JMS and JDBC
· Execute object oriented design principles and their usage
· Understand software design patterns and their appropriate usage
· Design and implement SQL databases, preferably using Oracle and MS SQL Server
· Develop with n-tier design issues including reliability, performance, scalability, and security
· Develop in UNIX, Solaris and NT operating systems
· Interface with clients to understand requirements
Job Requirements:
· Excellent Java programming skills, servlets, EJB, etc.
· (Proven software experience with server side Java as well as Java Applets)
· Strong general web oriented skill set consisting of HTML, CGI, SSL, web server configurations, proxy servers, LDAP and security issues particular to deploying web based solutions.
· Background in web based software development.
· Solid knowledge of UNIX, Solaris SUN, HP and NT operating systems.
· Strong user knowledge of Solaris production and NT software development environments.
· Strong database experience, particularly Oracle RDMS table manipulation, as well as ODBC and JDBC database access.
· Experience with Global development.
· Strong implementation, application hardening and production support skills.
· Familiar with object oriented design, development methodology and Struts development.
· Hands on experience in using source code control systems.
· Ability to decompose a project design into manageable components for development.
· Familiarity with reporting tools.
· Familiarity with EDI and/or data sync transactions (GDSN).
· Strong knowledge of XML and its application to web based data interchange.
· Demonstrated leadership skills.
· Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
· Excellent communications (verbal & written) and presentation skills.
· Willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time.
