Senior Unix Systems Administrator Senior UNIX/AIX Systems Administrator DESCRIPTION:·Systems Administration and Programming support for the IBM AIX 5L (5.2, 5.3) or Client-UX 11i (11.11, 11.23) operating system and system management software. ·Configuring and managing SAN disk resources (preferably EMC) and in-depth understanding of Logical Volume Manager (LVM); on AIX 5L or Client-UX 11i systems. ·General UNIX technical consulting services and providing technical documentation to Midrange staff and customers. ·General UNIX systems troubleshooting and problem resolution.  TASKS:·Review, install, configure, test, and implement new releases of AIX 5L (5.2 and 5.3) operating system software with a focus on using quick deployment/recovery software such as IBM’s Network Installation Manager (NIM) and cloning via mksysb images. ·Analyze and resolve IBM pSeries Power4 and Power5 hardware and AIX 5L (5.2 and 5.3) operating system software problems. ·Deploy new Client 9000 servers and install, configure and test Client-UX 11.23 operating system software; configure system images backups using Ignite. ·Analyze and resolve Client 9000 server hardware and Client-UX 11.11 and 11.23 operating system software problems. ·Assist operations personnel with UNIX system trouble-shooting and recovery. ·Work with UNIX networking and configuration of TCP/IP protocols and DNS. ·Provide solutions to UNIX hardware and software problems by obtaining and implementing vendor corrections or developing local fixes. ·Develop and maintain UNIX system utility programs and scripts for IBM AIX 5L or Client-UX 11i in the Korn Shell (ksh) and Posix Shell (sh) to manage systems with an emphasis on automating routine tasks. ·Develop and document operating and maintenance procedures for the IBM AIX 5L or Client-UX 11i UNIX environments.  REQUIREMENTS - Two (2) years experience, within the last five (5) years as a systems administrator installing, configuring, and updating the AIX 5L or Client-UX 11i Operating systems. - Two (2) years experience, within the last five (5) years as a senior Unix systems administrator managing AIX 5L or Client-UX 11i servers in an Enterprise Unix environment consisting of 20 or more servers. - One (1) year experience, within the last three (3) years developing and implementing Unix or Perl scripts for automation of system monitoring and maintenance procedures. - One (1) year experience, within the last two (2) years configuring SAN storage; such as EMC, on AIX or Client-UX systems, using Logical Volume Manager (LVM). - One (1) year experience, within the last three (3) years in performance tuning on AIX or Client-UX, using the vmo, ioo, no, nfso, kmtune, iostat, vmstat, iostat, sar, netstat, and related performance tuning commands.
