10435532Senior VBA DeveloperStart: ASAPDuration: 1 YearLocation: Portland, OR/ Fort Mills, SCThis is the posting that will start in PDX, and will eventually be located in South Carolina Requirements:Advanced MS Excel and Access VBA experience using SQL Server is requiredAdvanced SQL Server 2005 skills including writing complex ETL process, creating and using SSIS, and writing and maintaining complex triggers and stored procedures.Provide internal and external customers with quality and timely support and service.Identify and respond to the needs of all customers and work to make changes that will improve efficiency and IT system performance. Identify and work to resolve site problems.Must have initiative and be able to manage ones own time and work based on project priorities and requirements.Troubleshoot, in coordination with members of other support and development areas.Candidates should have the ability to review support and service tickets, identify an appropriate solution and make modifications in production systems.Candidates will also be asked to analyze, spec, develop, and unit test application programs based on defined business processes and requirements.Experience in application programming, development of custom reports, conversions, interfaces, as well as knowledge in areas of table creation, enhancements, screens, menus, and dialog programming is essential.Must have a proven track record in meeting schedule for assigned tasks while still meeting or exceeding business requirements and goals.Demonstrate a commitment to total quality and the process of continuous improvement. Demonstrate ability to manage multiple priorities.Tools/Applications:Five+ years (unless otherwise stated) of experience in the following areas:Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) in Excel is mandatory no exceptionsAdvanced SQL Server skills (ETL, DTS, SSIS, and T-SQL) is mandatory no exceptions1-2 years SQL Server 2005 experience is mandatoryWorking within a structured Systems Development Life Cycle Methodology is requiredVisual Basic 6.0 is desiredBusiness Intelligence (end user computing, management reporting) development solutions is desired.Net Programming experience is strongly desiredExperience writing Cognos Reports is desiredActive Server Pages (ASP) experience is desiredMainframe IMS and DB2 data access is a plusBasic Qualifications:The developer will be required to develop code, provide technical expertise, document work completed and transition knowledge to Client employees and/or IT contractors.The developer will address requests to service and maintain existing applications as well as create new reporting applications.Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related fieldProfessionalism and strong communication skills are essential. Must be comfortable working under the pressure of delivering quality results with schedule deadlines and must have a proven track record in meeting schedule for tasks while still meeting or exceeding business requirements and goals.Must be able to work independently as well as with others on work tasks and must demonstrate initiative and ability to self-manage time and work with minimal direction. Special Notes: Willingness to travel and On-Call are required as well as flexibility to accommodate east coast and west coast work hours. This position is to be filled in Fort Mills, SC, but the qualified candidate is required to work in Portland until the business unit relocates to Fort Mills, SC.
