Senior Windows Systems Engineer

 

Our Client, a global leader of Financial Wealth Management Services, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for a long term contract opportunity in Merrimack,  NH. 

 

This Senior Windows Engineer will be a responsible team member for enterprise wide Microsoft solutions. This includes Windows desktop and server operating systems, enterprise-class backoffice and productivity applications, active directory and other LDAP databases, enterprise software delivery systems, and the associated support architectures.

 

Primary ResponsibilitiesBuilding automated desktop build and support using established Windows engineering tools and procedures. Apply knowledge of Gap Technologies such as VBScript, PERL, Microsoft Resource Kit Utilities, etc., to solve Desktop Engineering tasks and problems

· Proficient in automated OS delivery scripting tools and techniques.

· Timely delivery of packaging/scripting applications for automated delivery to general population.

· Full knowledge and experience with Microsoft OS and application security patching tools, techniques and processes

· Ability to provide technical leadership in the testing and integration of various essential and high visibility projects.

· Experience customizing the computer environment (via GPO, login scripts, profiles)

· Experience with issues around enterprise Software Deployment and Patch Management (i.e. Altiris, SMS, WSUS, etc)  

· Familiarity with Windows security fundamentals (SCM, WSUS, NAP, IPSEC, GPO management)

· Expertise designing and implementing Enterprise level Windows automated provisioning including tools such as Altiris, Jumpstart or Microsoft RIS.

· Operating System Automation/Deployment Skills - experience in OS installation automation techniques - Symmantec Ghost, Altiris Deployment Server, Sysprep, USMT, and Microsoft Resource Kit utilities.

· 5-7 years of experience in an enterprise environment would be helpful
