Ultimately, this position is located on Andros Island, Bahamas.Responsible for the receipt and shipment of all cargo transported by sea and air to and from the AUTEC facility on Andros Island.Essential Job Functions Responsible for the supervising a staff of approximately nine in all phases of shipping and receiving. Oversee preparation of air and marine manifests and required Bahamian and American customs forms. Responsible for the documentation and delivery of materials. Liaison with the Movement Coordinator and all departments for the delivery and pickup of material. Prepare seavans and coordinate with commercial movers. Coordinate with Carpenter Shop for crating requirements to ensure proper packing in accordance with DoD MILSPECs. Coordinate manifesting, labeling, loading of torpedoes and targets for shipment. Schedule personal baggage pickup and loading on aircraft. Inspect MTMC vessel cargo for damage and prepare message traffic related to barge shipments. Ensure compliance with Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 49 concerning the movement of hazardous materials. Schedule and coordinate all shipping and receiving projects. Interface with other supply sections and an other personnel at all organizational levels including SeniorCSC and Government Officials. Implement effective training and safety programs for Shipping and Receiving staff. Approve timesheets. Perform other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications High school diploma Two (2) years of military shipping and receiving experience or five (5) years of civilian shipping and receiving experience required. At least one (1) year of which must be in a supervisory capacity. Knowledge of air and sea manifesting and reporting procedures required. Must also have experience with Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 49 in the movement of hazardous materials. Valid Drivers License and passport will be required.Must meet eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain the required government security clearance Other Qualifications Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Formal training in CFR 49- Movement of Hazardous Materials. Safety Shoe and Back Belt training required. Certified Forklift Operator up to 15,000 pounds preferred. Commercial Driver's License preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
