Software Analyst

Chartway Federal Credit Union, a successful and rapidly expanding financial institution with over $1 billion in assets and 41 branch locations in multiple states, is seeking an Applications Systems Analyst (Software Analyst). The qualified candidate will be responsible to the Systems Operations Manager.



Responsible for business analysis, program development, and maintenance of Chartway’s core computer systems.  Provides statistical information to management for use in decision-making, product tracking, marketing and sales/service initiatives.  Performs critical development, testing, and implementation of 3rd party products that are integrated with the Summit Financial System.  Develops ideas for improving and enhancing efficiencies and system utilization.  Responsible for adhering to federal and state reporting regulations (e.g., reporting financials to IRS, credit bureau reporting, child support payments, and homeland tracking) in a timely manner.  Responsible for creation and maintenance of system documentation for IT programs and procedures.  Provides backup for IT computer operations when required, and performs periodic weekend on-call duties requiring 24-hour support.  Performs other duties as assigned.


 

Qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent to include 2-3 years of experience to be supplemented by 1-2 years of related technical education. Solid knowledge of UNIX or Linux operating systems and strong technical knowledge of support tools is required. Experience to include some or all of the following development tools: Visual Studio, VB.NET, VBScript, Crystal Reports, HTML / XML, SQL Reporting Services.  Knowledge of SQL query construction is a requirement.
