Software Test Engineer

The SAIC Homeland Security Solutions Division (HSS)is currently seeking a Sr. SW Test Engineer. PROGRAM OVERVIEW: Software Systems Test Engineer meets with the customer and peers and uses system documentation to determine and document application requirements. Determines that software requirements are verifiable and quantifiable. Writes test plans and builds test cases based upon system requirements. May also be required to build test data sets. Performs Manual Systems Acceptance Tests according to approved test plan. Develops test scenarios and provide support for User Acceptance Testing. Writes test summaries and test problem reports. Uses PVCS Tracker to record Test Problems. Regularly participates in test readiness and Release Readiness meetings. Applies approved technical approaches to testing to ensure that applications are evaluated in an analytical and systematic manner. May assist test automation developers in creating and maintaining automated test scripts. Develops test options with varying degrees of scope, risk, and duration and presents to customer for approval. Writes test plans and test analysis summaries. REQUIRED EDUCATION: BS in Computer Science or related field plus 5+ years related work experience. A combination of education, training, and experience that is equivalent to 11 years and include 5 years of related experience will be considered in lieu of 4 year degree. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Must be able to read and understand requirements documents, write test plans, assist in evaluating software requirements, performing system tests, and with writing test summaries and reports. Must be able to work with system users,who may not be knowledgeable in test procedures, to assist in user acceptance testing. This position requires U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a US Public Trust Suitability. DESIRED SKILLS: Desirable candidate skills include excellent communication skills, experience working with several clients or projects simultaneously, technical competence, and strong organizational skills. Working knowledge of PVCS Tracker and Mercury Test Director/Quality Center is a plus.
