Solution Consultant - Applications

POSITION SUMMARYKaiser Permanentes Care Delivery BIO is seeking Solution Consultant Specialists to join our Pharmacy Sub-Portfolio. This is a technology position, but requires a business-focused background. Consultants in this high profile and strategic position will work closely with internal business partners, information technology professionals and vendors to:X Serve as a coordination point between the business and IT (customer relationship management)X Understand current systems & their functional capabilitiesX Perform business requirement and system gap analysis for strategic initiativesX Identify and evaluate solution alternativesX Develop logical designs and facilitation of IT based solutions thru extensive collaboration with our business clientsX Prepare, present or collaborate on all required Kaiser artifacts and deliverables including, but not limited to: Concept Description, Solution Alternative Analysis, Requirements, Logical Solution Design, Business Case, Risk Management Plan, Resource Requirements, Project Timeline and BudgetX Provide subject matter expertise and project support through the entire project development life cycleThe Solution Consultant Specialist is also responsible for coordinating solution design work across the national and regional constituencies to ensure applications are delivered and perform effectively for all stakeholders.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (listed in order of importance):X Excellent customer relationship management and customer service skillsX Ability to understand a customers business and how IT contributes to the delivery of that product or service X Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and relationship building skills X Demonstrated leadership with a deep technology and business acumen X Strong collaboration, documentation and presentation skillsX Proven ability to develop IT solutions to meet complex business problems X Excellent oral and written communication skillsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (listed in order of importance):X Consulting experience in a globally recognized organization with an emphasis on delivery of complex enterprise solutions in the healthcare industryX Experience with strategic and tactical IT planning X Experience in management of large, complex, cross organizational Health Care Projects X Significant experience in evaluating software packages and working with application vendors and system integrators X Experience performing business analysis, software design, and project managementX Experience using structured software life cycle & development methodologiesX Experience with Pharmacy Dispensing, Retail Pharmacy and Benefits Management systems X UML or comparable modeling experienceJOB RESPONSIBILITIES (listed in order of importance):(The responsibilities of the job will form the basis for benchmark screening and behavioral interview questions)X Scoping of projects, developing project plans; including financialsX Ensuring project and technical review milestones are metX Identified of risks and development of risk mitigation strategiesX Identifying and evaluating solution alternativesX Developing requirements and logical solution design documentsX Conducting design reviewsX Reviewing all development and quality assurance related materialsANTICIPATED DELIVERABLES IN FIRST 120 DAYS (listed in order of delivery):X Timely and accurate project status reportingX Creation of business requirementsX Creation of business process flowsANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/REQUIREMENTS YOU WANT INCLUDED:EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEThis position requires a relevant college degree such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or Management Information Systems-Masters degree preferred, with at least 7 years of information technology experience including at least 5 years of clinical information systems experience. Previous experience working within Kaiser Permanente and/or Continuity of Care venues (Home Health, Skilled Nursing Facility) is a plus.
