Spectrum Manager

Description: US Fish & Wildlife Service Spectrum Manager 

Location: Lakewood, CO

The employee shall provide spectrum management support to assist in definition, documentation, implementation and maintenance of complex communications and information systems throughout the US Fish & Wildlife Service.  The employee is responsible for investigating and analyzing frequency requirements for various systems on the local and national level, taking into account diverse national and international rules and regulations.  This task includes the following activities and functions:

Tasks:



· Obtain and maintain Electromagnetic Spectrum (EMS) resources assigned to the Department of Interior, authorized for use by the US Fish & Wildlife Service.



· Serve as the bureau's spectrum manager, managing the radio frequency assignments (RFA) for the Refugee's, Facilities and Regions within the US Fish & Wildlife Service.

· Be responsible for the coordination, tracking, upkeep and distribution of RFA's and other forms of spectrum access authorization to satisfy all US Fish & Wildlife wireless telecommunications systems needs.

· Receive and interpret frequency requests, validates requirements for accuracy, compliance and completeness of information, in Administration (NTIA) and the Department of Interior (DOI) directives. 

· Create functional system drawings (block diagrams) in a CAD format to supplement each RFA file.  System diagrams in Desing cad

· Assists in the preparation of engineering data, and other wireless telecommunications systems matters required for participating in meetings, operations, conferences, and workshop.
