Sr. Application Engineer (.Net, C#, ASP 3.0)
A Sr. Application Engineer is responsible for the creation of world-class websites for Match.com. The role requires individuals to turn a business vision into a physical reality. This includes physical implementation of all aspects of the application architecture: high performance design, coding, caching, security, encryption, session state management, error logging, scalability, etc. This role requires significant experience in high volume systems and/or e-business design and the ability to architect solutions based on different design algorithms to a set of highly complex problems. The Sr. Application Engineer will become a leader in the Match.com development team and must demonstrate the ability to lead by example. This involves providing expert assistance to the other application team members including areas such as high performance design. Finally, this person must be able to work at the lowest levels and take the product through the entire lifecycle of analysis, design, coding, testing and implementation. Responsibilities• Implement all aspects of an application design including but not limited to: high performance design, coding, caching mechanisms, security, encryption, state management, error logging, scalability, code reviews, environment configuration, proper testing procedures, naming standards and all other aspects of good application design and development, etc. • Architect and develop solutions based on different design algorithms to a set of highly complex problems. • Perform unit and system level testing on their application and all affected systems. • Work at the lowest levels and taking the product through the entire lifecycle of analysis, design, coding, testing and implementation and support. • Deliver the required functionality in an agreed upon timely manner. • Undertake complete projects or stepping-in to an ongoing project and become an immediate contributor. • Mentor and coach application developers. • Interact with business owners to develop solutions that required multiple resources with different levels of experience. • Analyze requirements and deliver realistic estimates for the implementation of related functionality for self and team. • All other duties as assigned.• BS or BA Degree, or equivalent development experience. • 8+ years technical business experience. • 8+ years experience with process development and implementation of customer-centric views. • 5+ years experience with implementation of large enterprise or e-business systems. • Windows Server 2000/2003 server development and execution environment • Visual Interdev, .Net 1.1, 2.0• C# • ASP 3.0 • Intel-based hardware architecture • SQL Server 2000/2005 development • Data Modeling• ADO • Proven track record of designing effective, scalable, distributed, high performance software and/or e-business systems. • Demonstrated business and technical analysis experienced. • Provide business focused technical expertise to the development team. • Significant object-oriented and relational design experience. • Excellent written and verbal communications skills. • This is a leadership position - we are only looking for rubber-meets-the-road ability to deliver.
