Through our collaborative and flexible approach, we deliver practical, sustainable, measurable results that help our clients make the right strategic decisions and implement the right solutions.The BearingPoint Managed Services Practice is currently searching for a VMware Developer Primary responsibilities will be:*Contribute to one or more Managed Services projects through assessment, design and/or implementation phases. *Provide assessment of client processes and technologies used for the management of Virtual Environments including: IT services, applications, systems, storage and networks. *Maintain current and in-depth knowledge of the entire VMware product line.*Contribute to one or more of the following areas: - Gather business and technical requirements necessary for the design, development and implementation of enterprise virtual solutions- Assessment, Design and implementation of IT management technologies for virtual environments and integration of Managed Services tools and technologies- Contribute to and/or lead the development of client deliverables such as assessment reports, requirement documents, technical architectures/designs, IT process flows, operational procedures, training plans, and more. - Organize and document findings of studies and prepare recommendations for implementation of new systems/procedures.Requirements:The ideal candidate requires the below skills plus a combination of skills in applications and storage: *At least 1 year professional, hands on experience with large scale VMware environments, both in development and production settings (VMware Certified Professional is a plus)*General knowledge about other virtualization technologies (Xen, Virtual PC, Solaris Containers)*At least 1 year of professional experience in migration and consolidation of servers from a physical to a virtual environment.*At least 1 year professional experience using command line, shell scripts and other Linux/Unix concepts, e.g. console OS of VMware ESX.*1-3 years experience in IT operations and/or support *At least 1 year hands-on experience with the implementation, configuration and integration of one or more leading IT management tools (e.g. HP OpenView, Micromuse, BMC, Tivoli, CA Unicenter) - certifications are a plus*Hands-on experience with the implementation, configuration and integration of one or more leading storage management tools (EMC Control Center, Tivoli Storage Manager, etc.) - certifications are a plusBearingPoint is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, national origin, religion, color, gender, sexual orientation, age, non-disqualifying physical or mental disability or any other basis covered by law.
