Sr. DB2 Database Administrator

Continuum Consulting, a Tempe based company, is searching for a Sr. Database Administrator with solid Mainframe experience. A qualified candidate will possess a MINIMUM of 5 years (prefer6-10) experience performing DB2 Z/OS Database Administration functions in the mainframe environment with thorough knowledge of concepts, tools and techniques.
Applicants MUST Have Experience with DB2 v8.

Candidate Qualifications:Ability to work with and understand distributed access to DB2. Ability to perform both database and SQL tuningExperience with BMC administration tool suite.Must be familiar with JCLMust have strong problem solving skills with attention given to detailsRequires excellent communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.Must be a self started who can work in a dynamic and changing environment with limited supervisionAbility to write clear, precise, detailed, comprehensive and grammatically correct documentation and procedures

JOB Duties:

· Be responsible for all DB2 Database Administration functions.

· Work on both application support and development projects.

· Support multiple testing and production environments.

· Provide technical support to other staff members for database related issues

· Work closely with project teams to insure databases changes are coordinated with application requirements.

· Assist application developers in design, problem resolution, and performance tuning.

· Support mission critical applications, including after hours and on-call support.

This is a W-2’d contract opportunity (corp to corp need not apply) for a duration of approximately 6-12 months with a strong possibility of extension.
