Sr. Database Administrator

Qualified candidate will provide daily Oracle DB support to include DB administration, design and support for systems involving inventory management, and financials and geographic related data.  Will possess the ability to take initiative, lead projects to completion and provide guidance and training to less experienced staff.  Will possess the ability to learn new products.  Build and maintain data and DB interfaces.  Design, build, manage and maintain DBs from requirements through implementation.  Other data and databases duties assigned as needed by the IT Group.  Resolve DB system and data technical problems.  Must be very comfortable working in the Oracle/Linux. CMMI, RAC, physical standby and JDE experience is a plus.

 

Must have a BS degree and 5 years experience in database administration.  Must have extensive current Oracle (9i & 10g) database administration experience/knowledge including design, installation, upgrades, patching, testing maintenance and backup (RMAN).  Must have the ability to diagnose and resolve database and related data problems and the ability to lead/manage tasks and communicate well w/technical and non-technical staff.  Experience performing database extracts and interference with external apps (Web Services, FTP, etc.).  Experience performing database migrations and conversions; est & maintain DB security; working in an Oracle/Unix/Linux environment with OEM; DB tuning, monitoring, space management; SQL coding; listener & agent configuration; and shell scripting.  Experience developing and maintaining database documentation.
