Sr. Database Engineer

A Match.com-incubated startup is searching for a Sr. Database Engineer who will help with creating and maintaining database and schema design.  This position owns the optimization, tuning, replication, distribution and normalization of the architectures in a fast-paced startup environment.  Responsibilities include:• Implement design vision, including physical implementation of data schemas on SQL Server.• Review/development of stored procedures using T-SQL under SQL Server.• Structured management of schema and stored procedure deployment.• Contribution to optimization, tuning, replication, distribution and normalization of the architectures.• Provide expert assistance to the other application team members in such areas as high performance design, code reviews, naming standards and all other aspects of SQL Server.• Contribute to idea generation and product definition• BS or BA or equivalent experience required.• 4+ years programming experience.• 3+ years experience physical and logical database design. • Strong experience with SQL Server 2005, database design tools and Microsoft development tools.  • Demonstrated experience with T-SQL, stored procedures and DTS.  • Familiarity with .Net a plus  • Proven track record of architecting effective, scalable, distributed, high performance software and/or e-business   systems. • Excellent understanding of and experience with relational database architecture and design with the primary focus on SQL Server. • Demonstrated business and technical analysis experience.• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.• Experience with web development tools and related applications.  • Demonstrable history of resourcefulness and attention to business detail.• Ability to deliver and ability to integrate as a team player. Benefits: In addition to a unique culture that appeals to individuals who thrive in hyper-drive environments and who work just as hard as they play, Match.com also provides US employees with a full spectrum of benefits including:- Matching 401(k) - Matching Gifts Program - Free sodas, bottled water and Starbucks coffee - Corporate wellness program and discounted gym membership - Tuition Reimbursement - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance - Flexible Spending Accounts - Life and AD&D Insurance - Long Term Disability Insurance - Paid Time Off - Paid Holidays - Pet Insurance - Employee Assistance Program - Discounted Group Auto and Property InsuranceThis is a summary of benefits and does not offer provisions such as exclusions or plan limitations.
