Duration: 6 month to permanent placement

Position: SR LAN / WAN Engineer - Windows Virtualization/ Internet Information Server/ IIS / SQL

Job Description:

§ Design, deploy and maintain Web Hosting Environment using Virtual Server technology.

§ Deploy, migrate and upgrade existing software and hardware within the Virtual Hosting Environment (VHE).

§ Troubleshoot problems relating to the VHE that are assigned through Change Asset and Problem System (CAPRS) or that otherwise arise.

§ Develop, evaluate, modify, install, customize, implement, and introduce new software changes within the Windows Hosting Environment.

§ Integrate new systems designs that involve interaction with multiple programs such as ColdFusion and Business Objects Enterprise XI software.

§ Troubleshoot problems on Windows intranet servers owned and managed by WISAT.

§ Troubleshoot problems on SHE servers.

§ Resolve scripting errors and produce reports according to guidelines in place for those that caused outages.

§ Develop new architectural changes to the infrastructure and provide necessary recommendations.

§ Provide expertise when supporting any Windows Server 2003 administration duties on servers managed by WISAT.

§ Provide support for the existing Secure Socket Layer (SSL) configuration and infrastructure.

§ Assist with the design, implementation and maintenance plan to provide server redundancy for Windows Hosting and MS SQL 2005.

Assumptions, Constraints, and Special Conditions:

- Full time support is required within a flexible band of 6 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday, excluding Federal Holidays. However individual schedules shall be set in response to the needs of the Government. Scheduled and unplanned outages, upgrades and maintenance may require extra hours in addition to the regular work day.

- A personal pager shall be carried at all times to facilitate 24x7 support. In addition, the contractor shall participate in rotating pager coverage.

- Minimal travel may be required
