Sr. Management Systems Engineer (Team Lead)

Position Summary:GoDaddy.com is seeking highly motivated individuals to join their fast growing Capacity and Performance Engineering team.  The Senior Management Systems Engineer will lead a team of engineers that design, install, configure, and maintain the IT management systems that collect, analyze, and report system capacity and performance.  This team supports mission critical IT command and control systems to ensure the highest levels of quality, reliability, and availability for revenue generation, and customer support and satisfaction.Duties/ Responsibilities:· Perform system engineering for a variety of enterprise management systems that support service desk, and incident, problem, service, change, release, and configuration management  functions of the organization· Design, install, configure, integrate, support, maintain, and upgrade enterprise management systems· Work with the Command and Control teams to understand their requirements for incident, system, asset, and service management functions· Assist the Command and Control team with Incident management through 3rd level problem support and resolution· Work with the Architecture team to develop an overall IT management system architecture, gap analysis, and roadmap· Work with Application Development teams to design and implement application metering and monitoring functions· Work with vendors and engineering teams to define the operational standards needed to comply with configuration standards, best practices, and audit guidelines· Support the Engineering teams with network, server, and end-to-end modeling efforts by maintaining key modeling systems and applications· Assist the Problem Management team with determining root cause of performance problems and necessary remediation· Create and manage regular maintenance tasks and schedule as part of the enterprise management systems release management· Lead projects and project planning, vendor management, and process improvement· Assist in setting team goals and prioritizing work· Produce regular status reports and updates for management reportingJob Requirements:· BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, related discipline or equivalent with 5+ years of relevant experience· Extensive experience analyzing, designing, and implementing IT management tools for system operations, automation, and reporting· Significant experience with Enterprise Management System software such as CA eHealth, Spectrum, and Service Desk; NetQoS NetVoyant; EMC SMARTS; Opsware NAS; OPNET VNE Server; and open source management tools like NMIS, Zabbix, and Cacti· Understanding of IT governance best practices and quality management (ITIL, ISO9001, FCAPS, etc.) and technology standards and associated standards bodies (IANA, IETF, DMTF, ISO, ITU, etc.)· Practical use of protocols utilized within an enterprise management system (SNMP, SSH, WMI, Screen Scraping, etc.)· Knowledge of network and server technology including routing and switching, and Windows and Linux operating systems on Intel platforms· Strong ability with programming and scripting languages such as VBS, PERL, Python, PHP, SQL and WMI automation· Understanding of data base and storage technologies· A keen analytical and structured approach to problem solving· Proven ability to work independently and dedication to customer service· Excellent written and verbal communication skills  Additional Skills (not required): · CCNP or MCSE a plus We offer a competitive salary + bonus, 100% employer-paid medical and dental coverage, three weeks of paid vacation plus two paid personal days available in your first year of employment, an exceptional  401(k) package, and a generous educational assistance program, among numerous other benefits. GoDaddy.com is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer Click the following link to apply online: https://www.hirebridge.com/application/appchoice.asp?jid=60934 Click Here To Email This job To A Friend
