Sr. Manager of Systems EngineeringBethesda, MDDirect HireScope: Reporting directly to the Director of Systems Technology, working closely with Network Engineers and is responsible for leading, motivating, and mentoring a team that builds processes and LAN/WAN infrastructure solutions that are repeatable, scalable, reliable and secure for an enterprise environment. He/she must understand the firms business requirements and translate them into technical requirements for Systems Engineers. Develop engineering solution(s) with team members to these requirements that are in line with the firms complete network architecture and standards. Work with Systems Engineers in designing, testing, piloting and documenting network solution(s) for production. Provide monitoring; analyze traffic pattern and support to resolve network incidents for the firms complete network infrastructure.Job Responsibilities Coach team members to help them grow, develop and encourage them to extend their professional capabilities. Identifying and delegating areas of responsibility to the appropriate authority for team members to successfully accomplish their responsibilities. Ensure the efficient operations of the enterprise network infrastructure. Maintain existing documentation of procedures, operations and network topology. Plan, design and implement future development and update documentation as needed. Work closely with Systems Engineers to optimize implementation. Contribute to strategic technology planning direction of projects. Manage project(s) according to budgets and schedules. Identify technological changes and product feasibility. Maintain Firewalls, switches and routers. Provide daily network monitoring. Assist in troubleshooting network issues Inventory firms network equipment for asset control. Act as Liason with ISPs and contractors. Manage IP addresses assigned to offices. Participate in staff and high level meetings. Assist with procuring and disposal of systems regarding inventory and assignments Inter-office traveling required.Essential Experience (special skills and experience, licenses, certifications, and education) 4 year BS Degree in Information Technology or related field; Masters degree a plus. Ideal candidate has a Microsoft MCSE certification along with a Cisco CCNA certification. Minimum of 10 years with on-hands systems and networking Management experience with a minimum of 5 years experience in a supervising and managing role of a network team. Flexible with work schedule hours and rotation on Saturdays during tax season. Microsoft networking environment using Active Directory. Working knowledge of IP subnetting, VLANs, and Communication and Routing protocols. Support various components of integrated environment such as Servers, routers, firewalls, switches and communication equipment. Multitasking in a team environment at a corporate level. VOIP concept knowledge; implementation a plus . Coordinate moves, adds, changes with ISP(s) or related vendor(s)Communication Skills Possess demonstrated verbal and written skills Professionally present, document and communicate firm technology infrastructureLeadership Skills Demonstrate Managerial and Supervisory abilities to appropriate staff Ability to delegate and mentor staff Excellent organization and management skills.
