TerpSys is currently seeking an enthusiastic, results-focused professional to join our team as a Senior Oracle DBA to install and support Oracle and Open Source applications and database solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Maintenance, integration, migration, tuning, and infrastructure support of Oracle 9i, 10g, 10gAS products, MySQL and PostGreSQL.
• Perform backup and recovery.
• Database support for the deployment of major software releases, feature enhancements, and bug fixes.
• Patch management.
• Lead and mentor other teams members.
• Provide all other database administration duties as required.
Qualifications:
• A Bachelor's Degree is required.
• Experience in a technical team lead or management role.
• 6+ years of database administration experience with Oracle.
• Demonstrated experience with Solaris and RedHat Linux.
• Demonstrated experience with the following Oracle products: 9i/10g RDBMS, 10g Application Server, Portal, Grid Control, RMAN and Data Guard.
• Demonstrated experience with the following open source databases: MySQL and PostGreSQL
• Demonstrated experience with contingency plan and disaster recovery strategy implementation.
• Demonstrated experience and expertise with shell scripting.
• Demonstrated experience working in a software development environment.
• Demonstrated ability to perform complex technical tasks and analysis.
• Demonstrated capability of working independently as well as part of a team.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with customers, team members, other teams and managers.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional certification: Oracle Database Administrator 9i/10g is required.
• Experience with MySQL, Postgres and/or other Open Source RDBMS preferred.
• Experience with Veritas Volume Manager, Cluster Server and Netbackup preferred.
