LOCATION Menlo Park, CA 94025 STATUS Full Time, Employee JOB CATEGORY IT/Software Development Contact Information COMPANY Cognizant Technology EMAIL Apply by Email Job Description Sr Oralce developer Total years of experience: 5 to 10 years Relevant years in IT: 5 years experience with Oracle RDBMS 9i & 10G. Relevant years with Core skills: 5 - 7 years experience working in an Oracle environment, minimum 4 years programming using PL/SQL, Oracle 9i & 10G with a total of 5 - 7 years in database programming. Desired Skills:** Expert in PL/SQL development for Oracle high demand OLTP/reporting applications.** Significant experience with Oracle DDL scripting.** Significant experience with Oracle's PL/SQL packages (DBMS_*, UTL_*)** Extensive experience with Oracle's SQLLoader** Extensive experience with Data Transfers/Sharing using Flat Files, DB Links, Web Services** Experience with large databases with high transaction volume in a fast-paced, production environment** Query performance tuning** Experience implementing Materialized views for reporting applications.** Strong Data Analysis skills** Shell/Perl scripting experience** Significant knowledge in Setting up VPD in oracle ** Excellent problem-solving skills, a self-starting attitude and good communication skills are essential.** Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment Job Roles / Responsibilities: ** Work with business users to clarify requirements and business rules ** Design, develop, implement, and assist in database development  processes ** Create and execute unit test plans based on system and validation requirements ** Troubleshoot, optimize, and tune PL/SQL procedures ** Document all database development and ETL related work per company's methodology ** Maintain existing code and fix bugs whenever needed ** Ensure that all timelines of loading/validating data are met ** Ensure smooth functioning of our development, QA, production and staging environments A Snapshot about Us:Cognizant (NASDAQ: CTSH) is a leading provider of IT services.
