Sr. Software Engineer (J2EE)

Planned Systems International, a Government Contractor celebrating their 20th year of operations, is seeking candidates for a Sr. Software Engineer with J2EE and some Team Lead experience to support one of our Government clients in Kansas City, MO.



Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for engineering e-commerce business software/database application solutions in a web farm environment. Must be able to interpret models and turn them into code. Work may include analysis, construction, testing, documentation, and deployment of large web-enabled processes onto WebSphere Servers that use object-oriented work products.

Required Qualifications:


Bachelors Degree and 8 years of relevant experience OR an MS Degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR a PhD and 3 years of relevant experience. Note: 6 years experience may be considered in lieu of a BS Degree with sufficient technical skills.

Chosen candidate will have proven and extensive experience in object-oriented development environments. In addition, they must have several years of similar full-life cycle web applications development with J2EE; tools to produce UML (preferably Rational Suite but others OK); Scripting Tools (such as ANT); Open Source Frameworks (Hibernate, Spring, Castor, etc.); database technologies (preferably SQL Server 2000); testing technologies (i.e., Test Manager) and deployment of applications (i.e., WebSphere, Oracle Application Server, Weblogic, or similar product.) Candidates for senior-level positions should also have experience/ability to lead small technical development teams and provide direction and guidance as needed.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and be able to successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process.

Desired Qualifications:


Although not required, the ideal candidate will have senior-level specialty/advanced SUN certification (i.e., SCWCD, SCBCD, SCDJWS, SCEA); experience working with Government customers; and experience with USDA programs and protocols.
