Sr Solutions Consultant

The Senior Solutions Consultant I is responsible for developing innovative information technology solutions alternatives to address specific business objectives or solve business problems for operational leaders and business units across the organization and within the Information Services department. These solutions alternatives are developed by applying knowledge of the client’s business, healthcare strategy, financial analysis, process improvement, and information technology as well as in-depth knowledge of IS department capabilities, resource allocations and dependencies.

This Senior persons is responsible for translating strategic business goals and customer needs into operational strategies and work requirements for new or enhanced enterprise-level application integration products and services. The person plays a key role in providing  product development roadmaps, buy vs. build decisions, business architecture and IT strategy. The person bridges application technology considerations to the technicians providing technical support. The senior solutions engineer must also be able to understand, debug and design solutions for existing complex and critical systems such as SCM and Lawson.  They will mentor and audit the work of application system administrators.

Success is achieved by helping clients create innovative solutions that maximize one or more of the following: Family and patient satisfaction, Clinical quality/outcomes, Patient safety, Service quality, Physician satisfaction, Employee satisfaction, Financial performance. The Senior Solutions Consultant plays a major role in the initiation and definition of proposed IS projects, systems enhancements and new systems. The Senior Solutions Consultant is challenged with designing appropriate solutions structures, which will provide a solid foundation for decision-making, prioritization, resource and resultant project plans. Although the Senior Solutions Consultant is primarily involved in the project initiation and definition phases, s/he may be called upon to fill the role of Senior Client Solutions Consultant or Project Manager to provide full client and project management services through the entire project life cycle.

Education & Certification:
BS or BA degree in IS or related business field; master’s preferred. Certification in project management or enrolled in coursework leading to certification.


Required Skills & Experience
Demonstrated knowledge of the Systems Development Life Cycle. Three to five years of experience in management of delivery teams. Working knowledge of multiple business processes supported. Demonstrated project management experience, specifically in IT, healthcare environment preferred. Demonstrated business knowledge in one or more departmental operations in healthcare. Change agent and visionary demeanor. Consultant skills strongly preferred. Excellent relationship-building and communication skills. Process analyst skills a plus. Demonstrated leadership experience managing cross-functional work teams, including internal employees as well as consultants and contractors. Demonstrated experience in researching, initiating and incorporating complex projects into the business environment. Strong interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communications skills. Ability to prioritize work, excellent organizational skills, initiative and accountability. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Flexible thinker, with an ability to quickly adapt to a changing environment. Knowledge of Project Management methodologies and tools – e.g., Microsoft Project, Visio. Microsoft Office applications.
