Endeavor is seeking a Sr. Storage Test Engineer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Testing and possible debugging of HYDRAStor grid storage: (90%)

· Prepare and run performance tests

· Configure storage for different environments, both Windows and Linux

· Create and execute test plans for backup solutions

· Test all aspects of HYDRAStor functionality

· Document test results in matrix spreadsheets

· Create and run performance tests with various HYDRAStor configurations

· Determine optimal configuration, settings and methods for using the system

· Create, with a writer, white papers and best practices documents on how to optimize HYDRAStor with various third party software

· Create detailed bug descriptions if any problems discovered

 

Administrative: (5%)

· Provide a weekly status report on bugs and testing progress

· Provide reports on performance measurements matrix

 

Education/Accreditation:

· BA in Computer Science or Computer Engineering

· Experience working in server environment running UNIX (Solaris, IBM-AIX, HP-UNIX) or Linux

· Experience working in server environment running Windows Server, Exchange, Active Directory, SQL Server

· Experience in QA testing and/or interoperability testing in software development process

· Hands-on networking experience and troubleshooting with Ethernet and TPC/IP technologies

· Experience with NAS devices (CIFS, NFS), enterprise backup applications and data migration tools and techniques

 

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

· Language Skills: Good English language skills.  Japanese would be a bonus

· Mathematical Skills: Algebra Competent

· Reasoning Skills: High - Ability to perform logical problem solving

 

Work Environment:

· General Work Environment:  Self motivated, work under limited supervision

· Noise:  Moderate level of computer hardware noise in test labs

· Standing/Lifting:  Minimal standing, must be able to lift computer equipment up to 50lbs

· Travel:  Minimal travel of once or twice a year attending technical events

· May supervise tasks of junior engineer
