Sr Systems Analyst
Join PF Chang's China Bistro as our new Sr Systems Analyst! This position works closely with the Project Management and Information Services teams to understand customer requirements and develop the detailed specifications necessary to develop solutions for various business groups. This is a key role that has high visibility to, and engagement with, various business units at the functional and upper management levels. This role includes engaging with customers to understand their business processes, gathering and documenting detailed requirements, developing ERD’s, designing full process and data flow diagrams, and ensuring the specifications are fully translated to the Quality Assurance and Information Services project resources. Responsibilites: v Ability to analyze and very clearly translate conceptual business needs into Business Process documentation that can be understood by all stakeholders v Develop strong working relationship with the appropriate business users to understand the key business drivers and priorities v Develop a broad understanding of systems (current and future) within the Company suite of applications and understanding their integration to the BI solutions v Expert at translating business mode of operation into high quality artifacts (process maps, functional specs, business requirements, training documentation) v Familiar with techniques for organizational design, process improvement, technology assimilation, organizational change and process modeling v Translate the analysis and design process outcomes into specific, tangible, prioritized system changes signed-off by user community v Ability to effectively document all types of requirements with appropriate modeling techniques (e.g. logical data model, logical process model, component/object model) v Eventually be recognized as a business application expert to address system/application design and to identify risks/gaps with options to resolve, by both user community and any external parties/vendors v Exceptional ability to gather functional business process requirements and translate user requests into technical specifications v Conduct presentations and perform ad-hoc user training v Familiarity with modeling tools, methods and concepts; UML demonstrated knowledge a plus v Evaluates existing applications and best practices on the market to make recommendations to management v Review, analyze, and make recommendations to modify BI systems including coding, testing, debugging and documenting programs. Works within an existing data and systems framework, as well as expands the design and capabilities v Have experience with the following tools and methodologies: SQL Server 2000/2005, Data Modeling Tools (ERWin, ER/Studio (Embarcadero), Microsoft Visio Professional 2003/2007, System Architect (2001 Popkin)), BI/OLAP implementations, 3rd party application implementations, SQL Server Reporting Services, ETL, Business Analysis, iterative and rapid development SDLC's v Bachelors Degree of greater in Computer Science or related field, 2 to 4 years technical skills with detailed process and data modeling; data warehousing technologies v 2 years experience with logical and physical modeling along with design and implementation v 2-4 years knowledge of and work experience with UML concepts and tool sets v 3 to 4 years of experience using T-SQL with a relational DBMS such as Oracle or MS SQL Serve v Experience with DW and BI project implementations and tools a plus v Ability to communicate and express difficult concepts to all levels of the organization v Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail v Be a self-starter showing initiative and flexibility but also be able to follow guidelines when appropriate v Have great interpersonal skills – personality will be important v Have the ability to work both independently and in a project team v Be comfortable working to deadlines v Must have strong detailed documentation skills v Previous Consultant experience a plus
