Sr. Systems Engineer

My client is looking for a Sr. Systems Engineer for System x/Storage & BladeCenter for the OH/KY/IN territory.   This position requires experience in design, implementation, management, and/or tuning of System x, BladeCenter, IBM DS3000/DS4000 SANs and VMware ESX servers.It will require travel to the customer sites across the OH/KY/IN territories and occasional pre-sales exposure with the Sales Reps supporting those clients. Skills and Knowledge Needed: VMware - Ensure proper server and network installation, operation and customer training of clients VMware infrastructure.   A highly skilled candidate must have a minimum of 3+ years working experience and strong proficiency with VMware ESX, Linux administration and 2+ years working experience with Cisco network routing, switching and security. The highly skilled candidate should be passionate about VMware ESX as well as SAN Technology.   Storage - Experience with IP network, Fiber Channel network, High-end SAN array systems, data replication. Also responsible for resolution of network systems, operating system and application troubleshooting.   Ideal candidate must have solid foundations of Linux security fundamentals, networking, TCP/IP, and Linux Clusters technology. Experience with Tivoli Storage Manager, SAN Volume Controller and SANMelody desired.
