Brief Posting Description:
-Telecom Engineer with enterprise level of experience to support 4500 users using Nortel Meridian PBX and Cisco Comm

RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Evaluation, designing, planning, procuring and installing new and upgraded voice/data systems and projects as well as maintaining online networks in support of telecommunications systems and projects.

-Works on complex tasks and ensures project, schedules, and performance requirements are met.

-Interacts with outside customers and vendors and functional peer groups on a daily basis.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
-Nortel Meridian systems design and architecture experience

-Strong understanding and familiarity of the telecom market in USA both technical and commercial aspects.

-Extensive Experience and Deep Technical Expertise with voice systems including PBX systems, ACD's CTI applications, Predictive Dialers, carrier services, Call Center services, Voice Mail systems and IP networking, SIP and ACD.

-Able to deliver/drive projects on his/her own with minimum supervision. -

-Lead projects for the North America telephone team if required.

-Nortel PBX Hardware Options 61, 81 & Succession Expert Required

-Hardware/Software Call Pilot, Meridian mail Expert Required

-Hardware/Software OTM/TM Intermediate Required

-IP Networking Required

-Experience with Windows Operating Systems Required

-Hardware/Software Nortel Contact Center Required

-Excellent organization and problem solving skills Expert Required

-Strong interpersonal and customer service skill Expert Required

-Co-ordinate with Vendors, and Internal Business unit team for project requirements/dependencies

-Software knowledge in releases 25.40, Succession 4 & 5.

DESIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
-Experience working with Cisco 6500, 7200 and 7600 is an advantage

-Knowledge of Layer 2 protocols - SPanning Tree, ISL, VLAN, ARP, MAC

-Addressing and Filtering is an advantage

-Proficient in Cisco Native and Hybrid IOS is an advantage

-Knowledge of Layer 3 protocols - OSPF, BGP, IP Addressing is an advantage

-Knowledge of Radius Servers and AAA functionality is an advantage

-Good understanding of configuring IPSec VPNs is an advantage


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
-Job requires 4 travels per year in NA and one time travel internationally for training shortly after hiring.

-Job requires carrying cell phone and being available to support major events 24x7.

-Must be a self-starter, works well with others, independent.
