We are currently seeking candidates for a Strategic Systems Consultant for the Aliso Viejo area.
This is a full time position. Travel is required.
Description
The Strategic Systems Consultant (or “SSC” or “Strategic SC”) teams align directly to Regional Sales team – with one Windows Management and ADM specialist aligned to one or more Regional Sales Manager. They lead and ensure a consistent and structured technical sales cycle throughout their assigned accounts and become a trusted technical advisor in building and maintaining relationships at a technical level.
SSC’s are able to speak to all solutions in their specialty (ADM or Windows Management) and help evangelize on how all our solutions work together to add business value. They aid and assist with discovery, solution mapping, demos, POC’s, business justification, RFP response, as well as collaboration with their sales teams and Solutions Architect teams.
SSC’s have to assess when to engage appropriate solutions architect teams for qualified opportunities when strategy, skill set, or availability requires. SA teams are organized to support the following areas - Compliance, Identity, Migration / Collaboration, Applications, Databases.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Train and coach reps on GTM messaging and new product offerings on an ongoing basis so they are aware of upcoming offerings, pricing, cross-selling opportunities and competitive information. Maintain proactive ongoing regular communication with their associated sales team. This could involve attending Regional Sales Managers weekly meeting. It could also involve scheduling conversations with individuals within account team to review key deals, ongoing activities and keep sales teams informed on new product offerings, acquisitions, other news, etc. Obtain and maintain broad knowledge and at minimum level 1 certification of all Windows Management and/or Application Database Management solutions as defined in quarterly goals established in the SC Scorecard Learn and maintain working knowledge of industry trends, common customer expectations, and competitors in their designated solution area Primary technical point of contact for customers and any technical information prior to customer calls or ongoing activities such as web demos, onsite and POCs. Use account to assess each customer situation to determine the appropriate next steps for the account based on skill set, requirements, availability and sales strategy. Actively move the sale along by engaging the appropriate resources for the next step. Communicate all relevant account and technical information with Solution Architects who become engaged in the account. This is key to enabling the SAs so they know the objectives and any identified criteria for success prior to demos or POCs. Complete all required technical pre-requisites and follow up and all associated paperwork (Customer Project Pages, Engagement Plan, Post POC reports, etc). Ensure and co-ordinate any required technical follow up.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
B.A./B.S. in Business/CS/CIS/MIS or equivalent work experience Available to travel when required (up to 70% of work time) Demonstrated ability to successfully execute technical account management activities: providing / coordinating responses to customer questions and RFPs/RFIs, product demo’s and trial execution, product installation. Ability to map Software solutions to complex business and IT challenges. Ability to convey the architecture of a complete Quest Software solution. Experienced administration, implementation or consulting with systems management and enterprise monitoring solutions. Understanding of service level management, end user management, application performance management and associated markets. (i.e. HP Openview, IBM Tivoli, CA/Wily, Mercury Interactive, Compuware, etc.) 2 to 3 years pre-sales experience
Technical Knowledge:Strong systems management / enterprise monitoring background with a focus on end to end application management Familiarity with major RDBMS platforms: Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL especially Experience with Virtualization strategies and technologies. VMWare’s ESX especially Experience with Windows 2000/2003/XP and UNIX - Solaris, Linux, Redhat, SUSE, AIX 5.3, HP-UX Application architecture & design work for some combination of J2EE, .NET, C and SOA preferred ERP Application experience (i.e. SAP, Oracle E-business, PeopleSoft, Siebel) experience a plus Experience with synthetic and passive end user management strategies preferred.
