The SME uses industry and FirstDoc knowledge to present and explain best practices and investigate client specific requirements. The SME drives the client towards a solution that includes the greatest possible acceptance of best practices, with deviations only when justified to support greater efficiency or compliance. The SME will support the project team by managing and supporting the analyst as well as by providing project planning support to the project manager and guidance as needed to the development team. The SME will provide thought leadership within CSC by creating white papers (for internal and external usage), training materials, marketing materials, etc. The SME will also provide support to the life sciences organization in general by answering questions and providing recommendations outside of his or her specific projects, such as questions raised by PMs, analysts, solutions specialists or account executives. The SME will support strategic and tactical planning for expanding, maintaining and upgrading the FirstDoc product. The SME will provide sales support including presentations and demonstrations, booth support, and proposal preparation.Responsibilities and Skills: The SME may have all of the responsibilities defined for the analyst, and in addition: Responsibility Examples and Comments Creates and delivers advanced presentation materials Creates and delivers presentation materials for domain specific topics. Presents and explains best practices. Provides examples from other FirstDoc projects. Researches pharmaceutical domain issues as needed Researches agency and industry materials as needed to address issues raised by clients and decisions needed for the FirstDoc product. Works with resources within CSC to take advantage of internal knowledge. Proficient at internet research. Lead and facilitate complex requirements discussions Prepares materials (agendas, presentations or briefing packages) for meetings or discussions involving complex and domain-specific requirements issues. Presents the issues and assists the participants in reaching a consensus decision. Provides demonstrations where possible. Demonstrates detailed understanding of best practices. Manages requirements workshops. Oversees analyst Educates, monitors and supports the project analyst. Creates white papers and other thought leadership pieces. These materials may be for external use (posted on fcg.com or distributed to clients), internal use, or both. Prepares training courses Prepares training courses for use within CSC on domain or FirstDoc related topics Plans projects Assists the Project Manager in planning projects and reviewing project plans Design approaches Determines the best approach for requirements gathering for each project. Provides Sales Support Supports sales calls. Presents and demonstrates solutions. Provides booth support at conferences. Assists in proposal writing including proposal planning, project design, Statement of Work preparation, PEST preparation, and proposal review. Supports the FirstDoc Product team Participates in the continued improvement of best practices. Conveys requested updates in a concise and complete form to the FirstDoc inbox. Answers questions needing SME input from the product team. Other Requirements: Willing to travel (normally up to 50%) Bachelors' degree Five to ten years experience in IT Consulting in the Pharmaceutical industry Extensive knowledge of industry regulations including GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, and the regulations governing paper and electronic submissions (Specifics depend on the type of SME role being staffed) Extensive FirstDoc knowledge (person will be considered an analyst, not a SME, until this knowledge is established) NJ/PA residence (WAYNE, PA office )Essential Job Functions Business: Gather process redesign requirements, coordinate and participate in development activities, and support the testing and implementation of package-based application software. Business: Build expertise in interface and data conversion requirements, capabilities and limitations, and setup and configuration issues associated with product modules in your specialty area(s). Business: Understand the purpose, roles, and activities related to a solution demonstration lab (SDL) and participate in applying this technique to facilitate application design and implementation. Methodology: Develop a working knowledge of the Catalyst-prescribed approach with respect to package-based development and equivalent vendor methodologies. Management: Lead a team of 3-5 resources (CSC, client, and third-party resources), in your area of expertise, to successful conclusion of a project phase. Technical: Maintain a conceptual understanding of enterprise software package solutions and related implementation issues from a technical perspective. Relationship Management: Establish credibility at all levels within the client and build problem-solving partnerships with the client and colleagues. Leverage: Understand the sales process, its information and support requirements, and assist business developers in identifying or qualifying leads. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Five or more years of experience in business analysis and enterprise vendor product implementation Experience working with CSC Catalyst and/or equivalent client or product-mandated methodology Experience working with one or two product modules and associated business and technical integration issues Experience working with detailed product functionality and features within specific specialty area(s) and associated best practices Other Qualifications Good skills in package-based development (PBD) concepts and activities Good communication skills Ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment Ability to devise creative business solutions Ability to convey a strong presence, professional image, and deal confidently with complex business problems Willingness to travel Remote Work Location Authorized:No Relocation Assistance:Not AvailableClearance Level:None Create Success
