Position Title: Sr. Systems Administrator {Job Title: Network Engineer 2 (100404)} Job Summary StatementDesigns, delivers and maintains systems and/or application technology solutions.Key Responsibilities Configures, installs, tests, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains systems related hardware and software. Assists in system management, including security, resource monitoring, performance tuning and customer support. Implements and maintains backend systems, including Windows, Exchange, Blackberry, Citrix, Backup and VMWare servers. Interacts with Client Support to resolve end user problems. Ensures highly available enterprise systems and/or applications. Provides technical assistance on architecting solutions in our supported environments. Proactive with maintenance and monitoring to avoid system and/or application problems affecting customers. Introduces sound technical solutions while minimizing the impact on the customer. Provides user documentation and training for new software/upgrades. Provides technical guidance to less-experienced staff members. Independently produces and maintains technical documentation related to complex tasks and projects that may span multiple groups, e.g. architectural diagrams, system configurations and support procedures, system policies and technical strategies. May interact with hardware and software vendors for negotiations and licensing issues. Participates in systems development efforts as required. Prepares management reports. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills with all levels of the organization. Assesses and improves the overall state of system stability and performance. Leads projects using a concise, consistent methodology to coordinate activities, schedule resources, and ensure completeness in a timely manner. Implements effective solutions consistent with the size and scope of the business need. Makes recommendations for streamlining processes, benchmarks, and performance thresholds for the infrastructure. Provides On-Call support outside normal Business hours. Promotes and maintains a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner consistent with professional standards to get along with users, co-workers, management and vendors. Performs additional duties as required.ScopeWorks under moderate supervision following established guidelines and procedures.Interacts with end-users Company wide and vendors when necessary.Essential Skills, Knowledge and Requirements BS Degree in computer science or related field or 6 7 years of computer experience in similar position. Strong Experience with Microsoft Windows server, Citrix server, Exchange server, Blackberry server, Active Directory, Domain Controller, VMWare, etcExperience with local and wide area networks, including routers (Cisco), switches (Cisco) and firewalls, is a plus.
