System Administrator (Exchange)

MMI currently has an opening for a System Administrator  (Exchange) in our Houston TX office.  This position is responsible for managing and operating specific systems to ensure high levels of availability and security for the supported business applications. This individual also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.

The primary job components will include: • Manage Exchange daily activities for Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2003 • Manage Exchange filtering for SPAM, viruses and blacklisted emails. • Install, configure, and deploy assigned systems. • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on assigned system. Escalate issues as necessary. • Recommend, schedule, and perform system improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases. • Create and supply required reports in response to business user needs. • Develop, document, and maintain practices, procedures and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use. • Mail store maintenance:  store de-fragmentation, mailbox moves into proper store • Outlook Public folder maintenance: new public folders and permissions • Manage Windows Mobile devices • Use 3rd party tools to Manage and Monitor Exchange. • Manage Blackberry Enterprise Server • Manage Office Communications Server



The successful candidate will possess the following:

• Ability to read, analyze and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables to arrive at solutions within a defined set of procedures or when no defined set of guidelines may exist. • Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw conclusions. • Associates degree in related field. • Minimum of 1-2 years of related work experience. • Some combination of education and work experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
