Description:  WETC isa cooperative of 3 public school districts. The cooperative is

 responsible for researching and implementing technology into ourschools.

  WETC is also in charge of bringing theschools new and innovative ways to

 delivery courses. WETC also maintains and operates out ITV video

 distribution programs.

 

Job Title:  System Administrator/ExecutiveDirector

 

Job Duties: Research and implement new technology for course delivery

 Use broad knowledge of new and existing technologies to give

best in class course delivery.

  Purchase and install new equipment

 Manage current ITV courses

 Manage/Support/Maintain/Backup existing equipment and software

 Manage and maintain existing fiber-optic network and associated hardware

 Manage and maintain interactive TV systems

 Manage and maintain Firewall, VPN, email,  filtering, and virus protection

 Manage and maintain all linux servers and associated LAN/WAN

 Researh new technology for educational delivery.

 Evaluate new software and make recommendations to school districts 

 Interface with other area technology cooperatives 

 

Technology Experience Required :

The person hired needs to be self-motivated and a goodpeople person. Employee will be overseen by a board of governors. The personwill have to be able to work on their own without a lot of supervision and berequired to give reports to the governing board of their activities. The personwill be working closely with the technology coordinators in each schooldistrict to meet their needs. This person will be relied upon to have visionfor the future and also how to maximize current resources.

Educational Background a plus.
