Job Category:Programmer Analyst Principal Leader Primary Location:USA-NJ: NEW JERSEY-BERKELEY HEIGHTSSchedule:Full-time Job Type:Regular Employee Status:Regular No Job Posting: 05/07/2008Description:Open Source (SOA) Architect's responsibilities: Maintain and evolve the design of the current architecture as an efficient shared open source technology infrastructure using technologies like Apache, JBoss, ServiceMix, Liferay, Tomcat and some of the other open source products. Play the authoritative role within the team for all phases of the application service development lifecycle for the purpose of maintaining standards and consistency across all services, maintaining efficient use of available system resources, and continue best practices where applicable. Play a leadership role in the capacity management of the shared environment through analysis of system resource utilization statistics and application transaction volume forecast/growth trends. Continue to commoditize the shared tech stack by maintaining the standard build processes for the Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) and application server environment. Play the liaison role between the application teams and the infrastructure team to specify new infrastructure requirements. Make recommendations to the governance team with potential areas for improvement via performance & tuning and redesign. Provide ongoing hands-on management and support of the D&B core environment including the ESB and application server environment across the various SDLC environments (QA and production). Maintain the integrity of the overall environment by providing oversight into how the tech stack should evolve over time. Technology used: The current tech stack infrastructure includes multiple layers of technology (ESB - Apache ServiceMix, application servers - JBoss & Tomcat, Websphere Message Broker and MQ Series servers with embedded DB2, Portal - Liferay, HTTP - Apache, application monitoring - JBoss Operations Network & Foglight, and centralized Oracle & MySQL databases residing in a multi-tiered DMZ areas. 10+ yrs in IT. 2+ yrs SOA. 4+ yrs general Architecture. 3+ yrs IBM WebSphere (App Server, Commerce, Portal and MQ) andJ2EE.
