System Operational Specialist

I.  General Duties

The System Operational Specialist will be responsible for the administration of core system software packages and performing system configuration changes, evaluation of software packages and the maintaining of the AS/400 or AIX environments.

 

Overtime and holiday work is required and a condition of employment. Employee may, from time to time, be required to work from home and, as such, will be required to comply with Independent Health security and privacy policies.

 

II.  Qualifications

  A.  Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in experience and education required.

 

  B. Competencies in an AS/400 and P-series environment.  Core processes on the

   AS/400/P-series and experience in cross platform connectivity and file management.

 

  C.  Proven leadership and problem solving skills required.

 

  D.  Minimum of 7 years experience administering core software packages.

 

  E.  Proven knowledge of wide area networks related to data processing.

 

  F.  Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

 

  G.  Ability to communicate both orally and in written form.

 

  H.  Ability to lead in a team environment.

 

  I.  Ability to assume responsibility and maintain confidentiality.

 

  J.  Understands the importance of maintaining the physical and technical security and privacy of protected health information (PHI).
