Primarily in Solaris, High End servers, High End Storage, and Sun cluster. UNIX generalist responsible for providing system support that includes hardware, software, software applications and networking to customers and field personnel onsite, local or inside/outside of the area or via telephone support. Provide a high level of customer satisfaction through effective delivery of technical support and service programs. Additionally, must be able to demonstrate advanced knowledge in a minimum of two disciplines. (Hardware, High Availability, Kernel/OS, Databases, RAS/Disaster Recovery, Storage, and Networks.) High degree of customer satisfaction skills. Must be able to work in standby / oncall to provide 24 x 7 support. Typically requires a BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent and a minimum of 7-9 years of UNIX or related experience or a Masters Degree plus 6 years of related experience.MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:SB8000, M5000/6000, High End Storage, HDS.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:Solaris 10High End Servers, 25/15K, 6900, 6140/6540, Sun Cluster Customer facing/satisfaction skills.
