DescriptionSystems Admin:Responsible for planning, designing, installing, maintaining and supporting computer communication networks: local and wide area network systems, networking devices and related software. Resolves interoperability problems to obtain operations across all platforms and may include network devices, email/Exchange 2003, Microsoft Active Directory (AD), Novell Directory Services (NDS), files transfer, multimedia telecommunications, hardware and software. Install and configure backup software, monitor local and enterprise back-up, perform and test backup restoration. Upgrade network and desktop operating systems, manage user accounts in the Active Directory, Novell networks, Exchange 2003 and Blackberry. The duties of this position can be broad and may include such tasks as installing new workstations and or servers, adding and removing individuals from the list of authorized users. Provide security measures, maintain patch management with Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) and manage virus definition with McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO). Deploy in-house custom applications and provides remote supports through the LANDesk application. Configure workstation, server and network systems per customer’s specification. Research, coordinate and support acquisition of hardware and software. Maintain currency in new developments and technology. May act as a technical project lead and provide work leadership for lower level employees. Monitor incoming requests in Remedy and response to each ticket promptly. Ensure the smooth operation of communication networks in order to provide maximum performance and availability for the customers.Required SkillsThis position requires a Bachelors degree and 8 years of related experience.
