Systems Adminstrator (UNIX, Linux, Sun Solaris)

We are looking for SUN UNIX Administrator / Linux Administrator for Contract to hire for our client in Chicago, IL.

 

Requirements:

* 5+ years experience with strong Solaris (through version 10) background, and in-depth Veritas skill sets ** Foundation Manager (ver 4.x), VVR (4.x), VCS (4.x).
* 5+ years experience supporting and working on Linux systems.
* Experience with Red Hat Linux, VM Ware and Veritas.
* Knowledge of LINUX (Red Hat 4.x / SUSE SLES9)is a plus
* Strong day-to-day experience in UNIX skill sets of NFS/NIS/DNS required.
* Proficiency in Perl and shell scripting is essential. Network troubleshooting skills are plus.
* Must work independently and on a team plus have the requisite UNIX troubleshooting skills to solve technical issues on an on-going basis.
* Ability to create new server builds via a jumpstart/kickstart process required.


Responsibilities:

Designing, planning and maintaining continued improvements of the corporate data center, core infrastructure services, disaster recovery systems and back up strategies as well as installing and configuring new hardware and software.
