Position Summary SQL EngineerThe SQL Engineer will develop and support high-availability application infrastructure at the company's Wheeling, West Virginia data center as part of the IT Infrastructure and Corporate Security Team and will lead development and engineering of selected infrastructure, including MS SQL Server cluster, Sharepoint services, and other data processing infrastructure. The position is also expected to participate in diverse activities related to information security. Supported systems and operations may include: SQL Server cluster/MOSS server farm engineering deployment and administration; Windows server deployment and administration; various security infrastructure and operations as assigned. Infrastructure is still under development and the candidate will be expected to participate in the development process.Job Qualifications• Bachelor's degree; degree in a relevant discipline preferred• 3-5+ years experience with systems engineering, including high-availability system development and high-availability database administration• 3+ years experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2003 or later• 3+ years experience with Microsoft SQL Server; previous experience implementing a high-availability SQL cluster preferred• 3+ years experience with Microsoft Office Sharepoint Server (MOSS); previous experience implementing/managing a multi-server Sharepoint server farm preferred• Working knowledge of Microsoft ForeFront and Microsoft Active Directory• Experience with VI3 VMware and multitier storage administration preferred• Experience with the following system administration tools preferred: ArcServe, LANDesk, ServiceDesk, Orion• Adminstrative experience with Oracle and Linux preferred• Relevant technical certifications (MCSE, MCP, MCTS) preferred • Ability to work independently • Ability to meet deadlines while paying attention to details • Project management experience • Strong technical written and verbal communication skills; ability to create clear and concise technical documentation • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills • EXCEPTIONALLY strong teamwork orientation • A "CAN-DO" attitudeSupervision This position reports to the Director of IT Infrastructure and Corporate Security, AmericasJob Relationships (Internal/External)Extensive interaction with a highly integrated engineering/security team and other elements of the IT department. Frequent interaction with internal and external customers including staff, clients, and management where courtesy, tact, cooperation and negotiation is required to problem solve user issues. Job Duties (* denotes “essential function”)*Lead the implementation and management of a high-availability MS SQL Server cluster and high-availability MOSS farm from a systems and security perspective. This position will be the enterprise technical lead for these technologies.*Support the development, implementation and management of database-driven applications in conjunction with other elements of the IT Department and lines of business.*Lead/assist/participate in other IT infrastructure, security, and governance initiatives and activities as assigned, including both internal projects and client-facing solutions.
