Systems Engineer, LATAM

Description:

The System Engineer’s primary role is to support the salesperson in closing business.  The SE owns the technically driven relationship between the company and the customer.  Highest priority revolves around ensuring that the customer has all the technical and application information he needs to feel comfortable in making a purchase decision. To provide high-level pre/post–sale technical support to the company’s customers and partners in the LATAM region, including training and assisting local partners, performing professional services, installations, troubleshooting, and participating in the company’s worldwide support. The SE takes direction from his or hers associated salesperson as well as from the Director of Customer Support.  The associated salesperson relies on the SE for pre sales support including but not limited to:Technical presentations, leading the customer to integrating the company’s products into his network.Suggest “best practices” regarding media download network design and maintenance.Custom proposal generation.

Background Requirements: Technical background and experience in networking LAN/WAN products and environments (routers, switches, TCP/IP, FWs, network management systems, VoIP, Video over IP, remote accesses devices, etc.) BS Degree in a technical discipline and a minimum of 5 years experience.  Motivated dynamic self-starter with hands on experience.Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects simultaneously.Ability to communicate and document technical information effectively.Excellent people skills and service orientated approach.Experience working in a WAN ISP environment. Experience working with a CRM or trouble-ticketing system. Experience in providing customer service, directly and with resellers.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Linux proficiency. Ability to troubleshoot complex problems.Selling and presentation skills.RFI/RFP response experience. Able to travel more than 70% (may include weekends).Excellent English speaking and writing skills.
