Systems Engineer - Windows/SMS/EMC SAN

•Salary/Wage:75,000.00 - 90,000.00 USD /year •Job Category:IT/Software Development SUMMARY: A large services company is seeking a Systems Engineer to join their team. DESCRIPTION: Systems Engineer supports a wide range of hardware and software platforms. This includes implementing new hardware and technologies, researching innovative solutions, and providing the necessary maintenance and troubleshooting. This person specifies, configures, installs, troubleshoots, upgrades, and administers hardware and software.   Assist in architecting the operations infrastructure. Regularly monitoring system usage, capacity and availability. Develop and execute procedures for optimizing server performance and capacity. Assist in the administration of Windows and UNIX servers. Assist in the administration of Windows XP desktops Work closely with direct supervisor to coordinate all hardware and software changes. Perform routine maintenance and work through vendors to resolve issues. Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, routing and system problems. Use structured and systematic approach to gather information and identify cause of problem. Understand the urgency of the problem and the impact on customers. Initiate contact with hardware and software vendors as necessary to resolve problems. Develop and implement temporary circumventions to be used if immediate resolution is not feasible. Ensure direct supervisor is kept appraised of problem status. Rotating on-call assignments. REQUIREMENTS: ·  5+ years of experience administering a complex 2000+ user environment. ·  5+ years of experience in Windows Server NT/2000/2003 " ·  Experience with SMS administration and Deployments·  Experience with EMC SAN·  Experience in Microsoft management products " HP Proliant servers " Dell Workstations ·  High-school diploma or general education degree required. ·  Microsoft certifications required. ·  Must be flexible enough to accommodate after hours assignments and support. ·  Very minimal travel required to implement new technologies or support the network. Preferred: 4 year College degree is strongly preferred.
